Hello Guys

I haven't posted here for ages as I started a new job with no internet access. Anyway my new cube arrived yesterday and the lid doesnt seem to fit tight in one corner, if you press it down it pops up at the opposite corner. All the screws seem tight and the lid tracks, all the bolts for the back and lid line up - anyone else's lid do this??

I am so excited and can't wait to get the girls in it tonight - green eglu will go on ebay at the weekend!

Any tips or ideas?

thanks

Karen.

My roof is a bit lopsided too.. I have to push down on one corner in order to fully slide open and then re align tracks when pulling back.. but I've just got used to it to be honest.. think there is always going to be some variation on the parts from storage/ transportation etc..

if you are concerned then let Omlet know as they are really good a resolving issues!

We've got similar problems with our Cube. The inserts you screw the bolts into are so haphazardly aligned that our roof cannot be secured. And I don't agree Omlet are helpful - we sent them photos and got an unhelpful response saying they couldn't see a problem. We're having to return it for a refund - though it will cost us at least £70 in delivery and return fees for the privilege of being supplied such poor quality goods. As you can imagine, we're really upset.

So sorry to hear you have had a bad time, I can only go on my own experience with issues, with which James at Omlet has been great at taking an interest and trying to resolve.

Sad to hear you are returning your cube.

Sorry to hear of your problems baneybo

I am expecting my cube in 2 weeks time and from what I have read on this forum the majority of people seem to be happy with their new cubes. I wonder if you were just unlucky and got a badly cast one? It happens on all production lines.

That said, for the amount of money that they cost. Omlet should have replaced it without question. Do you still have the photos that you took? As I'm sure that many of us on here would be interested to see the extent of the problem.

To Baneybo-

Surely if your cube is "not fit for the purpose" of housing your hens securely Omlet should provide you with a new cube? Especially with them being a distance selling company, & you were unable to view the cube " in the flesh" before buying?

Why not contact them again, phone & ask to speak to Johannes directly, I'm sure he won't want you to be unhappy with your experience of the company?

And I don't want you to be upset either, I think my cube is 8)

I agree with Clare's post about contacting James@omlet.co.uk and johannes@omlet.co.uk when you have a problem as they will deal with it - it may take them a few days to get back to you though as they are often out of the office and unable to get messages or phone calls. They always go out of their way to help customers with problems and would hate you to feel so unhappy.
