The only type of garlic powder I could get hold of was in a largeish square tub, seems to be for horses (to keep flies away?)

 

In it is a blue scoop the size of a coffee scoop about a tablespoon size.

 

In a grub how much shall I use? I tried just over 1/2 full scoop.

 

I thought the girls would like it, but they've definately not as interested!

 

Mind you I've just mixed two bags one of growers and one of layers to try and blend the change over, are the girls that clever?!!! Thanks!

I am sure I have read that people start with a smaller amount and build up the amount. Perhaps go for half what you tried and stick with that for a week then the next week try the amount you did today.

I add around 2 teaspoons to a full grub container.Any more and it gets a bit whiffy!

Ooh they get it every day on theirs! Maybe they're getting a little overloaded on it?! mind you, I thought they didn't like change?!

I think I am overdosing mine, I put a full scoop of garlic flakes into their feed (a full grub) along with 3/4 scoop of limestone flour and a large handfull of bokashi bran. I have noticed their eggs have a very very faint garlicness to them (not sure if it's my imagination).

That was going to be my question... has anyone noticed garlic flavoured eggs - or does it not make a difference if you only use a small amount ?
