Ziggy
Well I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but so far I'm loving one of my holiday activities with my army of kids.... a few days ago DD1 helped make a lovely mushroom risotto with a spring green topping, yesterday DD3 cooked vegetariand moussaka with me following an old (adapted from meat) recipe from my mum (she really loved brushing olive oil on slices of aubergines), and today DD2 (to cheer up from the death of her beloved Nicky chicken ) helped me cook Jamie's asparagus pie (saw it on tv the other day, I can't resist asparagus, this one is the one with filo pastry, and a potato, cheese and custard filling)... I love cooking with my girls when there isn't a school and homework time pressure going on in the evening... my mum never cooked with me... I have dreams of my girls leaving the house able to cook risottos, moussakas, and all kinds of various things... Having a good time with them in that kitchen Nice opportunity for one on one time too, allowing them to help in turn on different evenings... they are very proud of serving the food .... I'm hoping it will help solve the fussy eating too
Lesley
Well done! - I love to see children cooking I used to cook with my two helping and then progressing on yo doing it themselves and now I do it with my grandchildren As we grow most of our food as well, I quite often send them out with a bowl to see what they can find to cook. chickencam
We get our children involved in the kitchen as much as possible. My ED makes good italian food DS likes baking and YD loves to do pudding. They cooked Sunday lunch with a little supervision and a few arguements a couple of weeks back
