Hen Watch
The Omlet delivery man clipped 3 of mine when they arrived and held the 4th whilst I clipped a wing. They were POL (point of lay). Then when I got another hen, I clipped her wing on my own and it was easy. I recently posted some good pictures on how to do it in this post. http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27512

Gamebird
My 6 chickens all free range and they don' t have clipped wings. They were 16 weeks when I first got them and occasionally used their wings but now they are 7 months they don't attempt to fly at all. I suppose it all depends on the chicken. Ain't Nobody Here
Just thought you might like to see Milly obligingly modelling the latest fashion in clipped wings (And no, Molly's not passed out . I did check to see if she was breathing!)
Abbey Road Girl
Just thought you might like to see Milly obligingly modelling the latest fashion in clipped wings (And no, Molly's not passed out . I did check to see if she was breathing!) Yep, that's what a clipped wing looks like. Most of the time, you wouldn't notice as the hens usually keep their wings close to their bodies. It's amazing what shape shifters they are! They can certainly fluff themselves up almost twice their size and poke their wings out to protect something they want to claim for their own. Egluntyne
Lovely pic ANH. Why not send it to barbara@omlet.co.uk The first time I saw one of my girls do this, I thought she was having some sort of seizure.
