poachedegg
OH has ordered me a Cube for my 40th (ya ya!). As we will be getting the extension as wel,l will we need 2 winter shades to cover the whole run? Thanks in advance
Gallina
I was going to answer this, but realize that I am totally confused. The available shades seem to have changed in recent weeks. When I received my Cube, they had no standard shades in stock and so gave me the Cube shade that covers the top and the whole of one side instead. But this "side shade" is no longer listed in the shop. Nor is the original short Cube shade. There now seems to be just one shade suitable for the Cube (what used to be called the cube extension shade), and Omlet give no measurements: http://www.omlet.co.uk/shop/shop.php?cat=Chicken%20Extras&sub=General&product_id=487 I think I would check with Omlet (1) what you are getting and (2) how long it is. And if you can manage without a second shade for the moment, you may find that they bring out something better soon: it looks to me as though they are using up old stock.... SAB
I used the shade that came with my Cube plus extension at the part that covers their food (so they would not be distracted by pesky cats lying on top of run) but used clear Ikea shower curtain for rest of it - gives good protection from rain and still lets you have a good view of your darling hens. Snowy
Was going to suggest the good old Ikea shower curtain!
Earthchild
Was going to suggest the good old Ikea shower curtain! I came to the same conclusion and ordered one of ebay yesterday - bonus being it's much cheaper too
SAB
Apparently they are much cheaper in the Ikea store than on Ebay - but I reckoned I don't live anywhere near an Ikea so travel costs (and the inevitable other purchases that would ensure from such an shopping trip) make Ebay worth it. If you live near Ikea and can resist the pull to buy a couch/bed/etc while there, then go for it!
