My cube and chickens arrived today!

Recommended Posts

Lisa, I must have just missed you!

I couldn't remember my log in details for the pm so couldn't get your mobile number!

There wasn't anyone there when I got there, or when I left. I had a nice useful chat with Frank, he was impressed with my chicken knowledge and says that I have done 'all proper straight off'

I bought a speckledy and a Silver Nick. They are lovely especially the speckledy, she is so sweet and calm. I have put them in the cube with the door open 3 inches so they can see out. The silver Nick was desperate to get in the run!

You are always welcome to come and visit if you are in the area. I will pm you my mobile.

Alison

Yolky, so did I, but I think he told my brother in law 4 months, but then he said 14 weeks as well!

They are the same size, maybe a bit bigger than the 16 weekers that I bought from Thornes yesterday.

I have just nailed a piece of baton to my pen and put some cup hooks on it to hang the glug - not sure if I am going to carry on using it. I have a large heavy earthenware bowl that I prefer to look at that I am using!

Likewise the grub, I might use the feeder that suspends from the roof - I am going to try both and see which works best.

The speckeldy has mixed well, once I got her out of the cube this afternoon, and the others are leaving her alone. I have had to put the Amber star befing some netting in the pen as she is getting pecked, I have put corn down close to both sides of the net so they feed next to each other, and hopefully they will be okay tomorrow.

They put themselves to bed last night!
