4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

This morning we found an egg in the run. Have just gone out as Mabel was on the nest box and there is another in the run.

 

They have been laying since April and apart from the initial couple have laid in the nest box.

 

Any ideas why?

One of mine sometimes lays at the entrance to the eglu. She just didn't make it to the nest in time!!

The thing was Mabel was on the nest box - and when I went to check there was no egg in the nest box but on the run floor - so she had made it to the nest box, just not laid there...strange!

Well I have this problem too. Spice often goes in the nestbox to lay and then comes out for food, she sometimes gets caught short whilst this happens and lays in the run. Also she sometimes doesn't make it to the nestbox when another chicken is in there too.

tikka sat on the nest box all morning and still laid at the door of the house today . chicken logic ?
