chooklady
We went to a chicken supplier and there was a lovely little hybrid bird that my daugther likes. It had tufts of feathers on it's head either side of it's comb and the man said it laid bluish eggs. But I can't remember what he said it is called, I know the name might vary but I wondered if anyone might have one of these and be able to post a picture. Many thanks Nicola

Ana's flock
It could be a Columbine... I can't post a picture because the system won't let me, but if she's a bit 'beige' near the head and neck and then more lilac/grey towards the bottom half and tail, has a 'hairdo' of longer feathers on the top of her head, and a pretty face, then it's likely to be a Columbine. About 80% of them lay blue eggs, the others pale brown. For a blue-egg layer look for a blueish tinge around the area of the ears. It gives you a clue about the colour of the eggs. chocchick
or Jasmine, I found this photo http://club.omlet.co.uk/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=425 They tend to have a 70% chance of blue eggs, just to warn you Cream Legbars or Aracaunas (both purebreed) lay blue eggs too and are tufty. http://www.poultrymad.co.uk/chickens/araucana.html http://www.poultrymad.co.uk/chickens/legbar.html I found this thread http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25426&highlight=jasmine
