list of makes that use freerange eggs

Recommended Posts

Hiya.

I remember a while ago somebody had put a link on omlet which had a list of food producers who always used freerange eggs in their products. I think it was on BHWT but I cant find it now. Does anybody know where I can find it? Since bumble the rescue hen died a few days ago, I feel more strongly about not wanting to have anything to do with the whole battery industry.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have just recieved my compassionate shopping guide through from compassion in world farming which is www.ciwf.org/supermarkets

It lists the ranking of supermarkets on animal welfare through eggs, chicken, dairy & veal, pork and bacon, beef & lamb.

I'm pleased I can say Marks and Spencers came first as I work for them :) They have been using free range aggs in all there products since 2004 even down to the egg wash on there pastry! 8)

Compassionate farming will send you 10 booklets to give out to friends and family and they are small enough to fit in your purse. Hope this helps :)

Thanks SharonX. Ive emailed them requesting a copy of their guide. Ive also saved the website address to look at when I've got time. It looks really interesting.

Thanks Egg Lou (I dont know how to post links either!) I'm going to see if I can find that thread now.

Happy chickening.
