Butty
Hi it's me again sorry. Meant to add this to my last topic. Any ideas why the white of one off my eggs didn't solidify when it was boiled? It was like thick milk when I removed the shell. The yolk was fine. I put 4 eggs in together others were ok.
ubereglu
Was it a slightly larger egg? If so it would have taken longer to boil and harden. You may not have left it to boil long enough either, when I hard boil eggs I do them for ten minutes from when the water boils and I turn them down. Butty
Hi No they were all the same size and left in for plenty long enough but thanks for your thoughts.
Egluntyne
Sometimes if they are very fresh they don't cook as well. Better after 24 hours.

frenchtoast
I agree! It was probably too fresh! My DD wanted to try an egg hot, straight from the chicken, so the water was ready and waiting and it was boiled within minutes. 2 eggs were hard boiled for eating "chopped up in a cup" and that one's white stayed mushy while the day old one was fine.
