carenb
Hi, yesterday I found a 'think' in one of my girls poo's... looked like a piece of thin string - not little white maggot type things that my dog (when I had one) had once. I am really unsure of what worms in poo looks like, and have tried an internet search - but wasn't very fruitfull. Any help, or suggestions where to look would be much appreciated. I have tried a 'worm search' on the facility on this site, and also the health section. I am awaiting a vermex delivery. My birds are only 22 ish wks old, and all 3 are laying, but one isn't - I assume this could be a reason ?? she doen't seem to mix as well with the others - although I suppose this could just be her personality. Thanks for your time guys.. Caren.
buffie
It does sound like a worm and that would suggest giving them all a worm treatment. Worms are obvious once they are passed, long, thin and pale coloured. Hope this helps Buffie x

stoice
Verm-x is really only a preventative treatment for worms. If you suspect they have them then maybe try Flubenvet http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4619
Mrs Frugal
I'll second that. Flubenvet will rid your hens of any worms they might have and there's no egg withdrawal period either. I wouldn't trust Verm-X if your hens have an infestation.
carenb
Thanks all.. will do flubenvet, and then maintenance with vermex ? sound appropriate ? Not been having eggs long - do I have to throw them for 2 whole weeks ???? and also, would the infestation stop peppa from starting to lay ? Caren. Egluntyne
There is no egg withdrawal with Flubenvet...unless you are using a double dose for gapeworm.
