Electricbarbarella
and how long do they actually lay for? I intend to keep mine as pets but i wondered if others do this.
Sandychick
I just think of mine as pets and eggs are a bonus. When they stop laying they will still be doing some nice poo for the compost heap!
Cooks
ours are pets so I agree the eggs are a bonus, I woulod love them even without their beautifull eggs, they make me laugh so much my tummy hurts
Egluntyne
Some of my older girls aren't earning their keep any more. They are going to love out their retirement here. They've earned it.
Shirl
One of my ex batts doesn't lay. OK I'd be a liar if I said it didn't bother me at all but I know she's done her bit before she came to me so she's my charity case. I don't know what I'd do if they all stopped though because I wouldn't want to buy eggs but don't want any more chooks. Actually I know what I'd do. I'd whinge a lot but love them all the same
