A quick update on my posts about one of my ex-batts Joy laying soft eggs and then no eggs (thought she'd opted for freeloading and retirement ) - she's started to lay again . Many thanks for everyone's advice and support along the way. The eggs were not precious, but Joy is.

 

I've had three six-egg days in a row and this morning saw her into and out of the nestbox and picked up her egg, so she's definitely producing. I finished their first course of Flubenvet at the end of last week, so maybe she needed worming, or maybe she just fancied a holiday after all her time in a cage.

 

Whatever, my cheekiest of cheeky chooks is happy, healthy and definitely back in busines
