Does anyone have any plans or something to give me an idea on how to build a roll away nest box. Quickly please lol. I am getting really fed up of not getting any eggs becasue of Hermione eating them. And if something isn't done, OH is threatening to 'despatch her' To him they are not pets at all, but just chickens. Need help fast.

I'm really not sure, I think some people have mentioned putting flower pots on the nestbox, but that may be to stop them sleeping in there...

Whether they would sit well in the Eglu is difficult to say.

Have you tried filling an empty egg shell with mustard or chilli and putting that in the nestbox? Another thing to try is ceramic eggs.

Believe me, we have tried everything!! She is just one very determined chook. It's her egg, she laid it, therefore she can eat it

 

Thanks for that egluntine, I have made a temporary one tonight out of an old plastic toy box and some bits of left over wooden laminate board (it's a sight to behold, and duck tape is a marvellous invention ) but will find out about ordering onee of those tomorrow.

ooh, that looks very snazzy   I may look into it , but for the moment I am happy to say that my homemade 'contraption' is doing the job. It may not look too pretty, but we had eggs for breakfast this morning woo hoo!!
