Eggstatic!
My Miss Pepperpot has started picking the wood chip off the bottom of the run and putting them on her back!! She has been in and out of the nesting box today even though i found a softie in the eglu this morning.
chelsea
my maran does this everytime she lays, i think its a nesting instinct. She does it just before she lays an egg. Funny little things arent they?!
Eggstatic!
Thanks for that, I though that she was becoming broody!

chelsea
Thanks for that, I though that she was becoming broody! no, you dont want that do you! Broody is where she wont move off the nest and grunts and puffs up at the sight of you, quite funny yet infuriating at the same time! oh we do love our little angels dont we! iar fach goch
I was just about to post about this. Twm T Rex regularly comes out of the egloo and picks grass, leaves etc and place them on her back. Really strange to look at, but quite cute! hennymom
one of my girls, mutters and puffs up before she lays an egg, she sounds just like she is telling me off, she also picks shaving up and throws them on her back and feathers that have been lost too..she is very funny, she is not at all broody tho the minute she lays an egg she shouts to the world and barrels down the run ramp to see what going in the food department...their favourite is spinach... they jump up at the gate if they hear the bag rustle...
