Stevie
Mine were never keen on Omlets organic pellets so i ended up getting Dodson & Horells GM free mash (they prefer this over pellets) and gradually mixed it so Omlets stuff wasnt waisted with no problems. Yesterday,i went to animal feed store to pick up another sack cos i was running low,but this seems to be different. They go nuts for it.They've always had healthy appetites since comming into lay and even more so since letting them freerange garden 24/7 (Foxes cannot get in) which has got to be down to getting more excercise. They really are eating a vast amount! Their worming is all upto date too-i did them recently with Flubonvet. I just wondered if anyone else feeds theirs Dodson & Horrells mash and has noticed similiar behaviour? Tigerlily
Hi Steve, I buy Dodson and Horrell pellets for my girls and they go mad for them I turn them into mash as well and they love that too I did try a different brand (organic pellets I think) and they turned their beaks up and didn't like them one bit! So I just stick to Dodson and Horrell now... BW x
Hen Watch
Mine have Doddson & Horrell pellets (not mash though). My lot preferred it from the Omlet pellets. I did have one sack of pellets about 4 months ago were the pellets had green flecks in and the girls didn't like them as much so I bought another sack and mixed the 2. They did eat them eventually. I assume it was just a beginning or end of a production batch and maybe had more or less of one ingredient. Only ever happended once though. Stevie
Mine are covering their heads in mash cos they're almost diving head first into their feeder.Just never seen them eat the mash with quite so much gusto!
