As to whether they are hypnotised or just very relaxed I'm not sure I saw something similar on a programme last night and it just seemed weird.

I'm not sure they would let me put their head under their wing or hold their beak without a fuss

I don't think mine would either . The one on tv last night didn't seem to be under any stress but I'm still very sceptical about how they managed it.

I posted last year on hypnotism for hens. It was done on the CBBC channel.

 

Basically - get a piece of white chalk, and show to hen, then slowly draw a white line away from the bird on say tarmac/black paper. The hen is then trtansfixed by the white line until you click your fingers

Hahaha yeah I remember that from last year i think - i believe holiding them upside down also works............or is that some other animal? I used to makemine go into a trance by putting my finger on the end of their beaks. They just used to go very quiet and still - although if I was unlucky they'd bite my finger
