I want to pop oner in the next box so they get the message it's for laying in, rather than have them laying elsewhere. Thanks! ali-s Posted September 3, 2008 Share Posted September 3, 2008 I have always used a golf ball in the nestbox to encourage any new layers to use the nest box. When Amber my new Yorkshire girl started laying on the roosting bars I couldn't find a golfball anywhere, I used a small white and pink glittery bouncy rubber ball.
