ubereglu
When I log out none of the red stars disappear anymore and so I'm landed with a mountain of them when I log back in again. Does anyone know how to stop this?
ubereglu
Have now worked out how to! You have to go into User control panel and select display settings and you then click on the drop down menu 1 day.
Egluntyne
Is your "Mark Topics as Read" thingy not working?
ubereglu
Well, it might be, but I don't know where the button is!
Egluntyne
It is not so much a button as a green line of text at the foot of each section of the forum.
chocchick
Thanks I've been overwhelmed by red stars too. I think if I visited in the old system the stars would clear for any threads read or unread on my next visit. Now if I go back the unread threads remain and there are pages of them. chocchick
It is not so much a button as a green line of text at the foot of each section of the forum. I click on that and it does clear the red stars. I'm sure it used to happen automatically before.
Phonix
I might just be really stupid or not all with it cos its early lol but I can;t see the 'display settings' bit!

My red stars or arrows as they were used to go each time I logged off last time too Now they seem to stay untill I read them or click on the all topics read at the bottom of the list of topics. Egluntyne
I might just be really stupid or not all with it cos its early lol but I can;t see the 'display settings' bit! Go to User Control Panel.....then Board Preferences......then Edit Display Options......then on the right you will see Display topics from previous days......or Display posts from previous days. Each has a drop down menu. Select the option that takes your fancy. .
chocchick
See top left of screen Another temporary way: at the bottom of the thread it says display post from....and it has a drop down menu where you can choose the number of days It cuts down posts to those from today, but doesn't affect the stars from what I can work out. You have to clear posts with the green text as Egluntine said to do that. I'm glad it's not just me that thinks the stars/arrows have changed

Lesley
I like the new set-up.........it's really handy if you have to log out for some reason before you've read everything you wanted to........and if you accidentally click on 'close' (which I'm always doing ) I just mark everything as read as I leave each time......
