abwsco
Have been out to poo pick the coop whilst it wasn't raining. As I walked in something moving caught the corner of my eye and made me jump. Horror of horrors I thought it was going to be a mouse, but it was a great big toad I can only assume it went in the coop yesterday and has spent the night with the girls as it had lots of hemcore stuck to it. They obviously don't like toads!
Egluntyne
You lucky thing....toads love slugs!
purple hen
I have found a large toad inside the eglu several times recently, once it was sitting in the nest box amongst the eggs , another time it jumped out of the poo tray when i was cleaning it out . I think it is the same toad who has found himself a cosy dry place to hide from the rain and keeps coming back. It comes to something when the weather is too wet for frogs and toads to stay outside. I'm surprised the girls have left it alone because i have seen them fighting over smaller toads.
bellekatz
I found a toad yesterday in my herb patch - don't know where it has gone to today but hope it stays in the garden - do they travel far?
Hen Watch
Mine eat frogs. Not seen them eat a toad though...... maybe they taste different
