Lisa
We have discovered who the mysterious layer was. After sneaking into the garden repeatedly over last weekend we found out that Cordelia (Dilly) is the latest to produce. Dilly has since laid lovely little speckeldy eggs every other day for the past week. She lay her first consecutive day egg this morning. This was much to my DH delight as he was able to collect them. He thought the chooks had something against him as on the one day he got home early last week and rushed passed DD to collect eggs, he found that neither of the two who were laying had obliged!!!! We are just waiting for Cleo to start! She is a light sussex hybrid and I believe she will be a little bigger than the other two. Do you think her energy is going into growing before she will begin to lay? Has anyone got one of these chooks and at what age did theirs start laying? Not that we are concerned although DH affectionately refers to her as the freeloader!
