poachedegg
Gladys has been a little off lay the last couple of weeks, sometimes a softie, sometimes nothing, one perfect size, but the shell was white (rather than brown) and very rough. Today she laid a tiny one, so out of interest we cracked it and there was only white, no yolk!! We have had Gladys since April and until a couple of weeks ago was a normal layer.....seen softies before but not this, any ideas?
chucknette
Hi The tiny eggs are called wind eggs or witches eggs, they are nothing to worry about They look quite sweet dont you think? You could do the limestone flour and codliver oil to help with the softies to make her feel more comfortable. Best wishes
