Guest
Carperpetuation - n. The act, when vacuuming, of running over a string at least a dozen times, reaching over and picking it up, examining it, then putting it back down to give the vacuum one more chance. (how many of us haven't done that???) Phil

Sheilaz
Spot on, Phil! Sometimes I even help by twisting a cotton thread into a ball, then as you say, placing it back in front of the vac! Learnt early on, first house, white thread on plain brown carpet Hard word to say, but very good definition.
