4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Last night we were in a hurry to take our daughter out to cadets, then off out ourselves - I totally forgot to put the chickens away before we got in the car! I have never forgotten them before - it was only at 7am when my husband saw Nutmeg walking around the garden he realised we had left the eglu open all night!

 

They were in the Omlet netting and we have never seen a fox in the garden and luckly all were safe and very happy with their early morning freedom today - but I felt awful.

I went down to check mine the other night and found I had left the nesting box door off!!

I bet we have all had at least one experience where we have forgotten or been distracted.

 

Thank goodness they were all OK.

I went to work one day and came back to find them having a whale of a time in the garden - they'd been out all day .

Golly. I've only had one near miss so far... a few months ago, I'd gone to bed, sat up reading, them y heart started pounding as I realised I'd forgotten to lock them in! It was half past eleven! Narrow escape!
