Stinky poo

Recommended Posts

As Buffie knows, I still have trouble picking up my 2 girls. This morning I managed to pick up my Pepperpot, Darcey, but she rewarded me with the stinkiest poo all down my fleece, jeans and shoes.

It was a sort of ginger colour and smelt foul (!) - I had to change everything, and can still smell it. She seems fine, a nice egg this morning, grubbing round the garden now. Was she just showing her displeasure?

One of mine are doing ginger/orangee coloured foul smelling poo every now and again I think it is the Pepperpot. I have only had them for a week so was not too worried yet. I have ordered some garlic powder which should help with the smell but is it anything to worry about.....and should I stop their treats or anything.

If it's only a week since you got thewm I shouldn't worry too much yet. Mine did horrid poos for the first cpouple of weeks. What worked wonders was a mixture ofyoghurt and bokashi bran. They love it.

I love your animated boxer BTW.

Thanks Val I did think it could be because they are new but it's reassuring to know someone agree's......... :) Will try the bokashi and yoghurt once my supplies arrive.

Just what I was going to suggest. Bokashi Bran & live yoghurt periodically with garlic powder or flakes intheir food every day.

The curry poo thing it usually restricted to every 10th poo or so and is the caecal gland emptying; if your hen is doing poos like this all the time, then worm her before putting her on this exclusion diet i.e. no treats, fruit or veg
