Hi, I was wondering if there was any chance of us arranging an un-oficcial get together in late autumn/early winter? I thought I'd bring the subject up before it is too later. At least with a prompt start we could get on with the planning!

No. I think it should be quite central like last at Burghley. I think another manor type place would be really good!

Late autumn/early winter would probably need an indoor venue in case it's cold/raining/freezing. I'm not sure Burghley would be suitable for lots of people inside as it's a bit precious! We can all put our heads together and see if we can think of a vaguely central location which is either pretty or interesting with facilities indoors in case the weather's bad. Maybe a large garden centre or something along those lines as many of us are keen gardeners. Most of them have restaurants where we could take over and eat all the cake!

Good point. Will have a google and see what I can find. Will be interesting to see if Clare can contribute any ideas for a location as she also lives centrally and perhaps Lesley!

I think the best thing is to agree a date first so that as many people can put it in their diaries.

Then go for the most popular venue

Well if it was in October. Half term week is : 21/10/06-27/6/06

 

I would be ruled out of 27th because there is a Villa game. 22nd is a Sunday and would be smashing for me!

Sunday would be fine for me too Martin so long as it wasn't the first Sunday in the month as LSH plays in a golf competition and I can only drive in a 20 mile radius of home !

The eating area at the Domestic Fowl Trust is fairly small - it would depend on how many were coming? Wyevale garden centres often have large dining areas?
