Boney chuck!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, we got 2 new girls a fortnight ago, totally different types. Smeegal is a chunky hybred and Bunny is a dainty light sussex.

Im really worried Bunny seems to be getting thinner! her breast bone and underneath felt ever so pointy today when i picked her up. I have wormed them both and she seems to eat tons. Could it be that she is stressing when in with the 2 original chucks? They do chase her round the garden more than Smeegal, who just stands still. I have kept them apart today and will do tomorro so she can just eat all day. She still looks healthy and as big as Strut who are about the same age but feels not quite right.

Any ideas? Im just about to order some flubenvent just incase the verm-x didnt do its job.

At this rate im gonna loose weight worrying :(

personally, i wouldn't trust verm x. I've read too many times that it doesn't seem to work. We always use flubenvet. Put a spalsh of apple cider vinegar (the horsey stuff) in their water as, aswell as being a good all round tonic, it will make their gut less friendly to any parasites. Try putting some poultry spice in with their food too. Try her with a bit of tuna too, it will help to fatten her up a bit.

I would definitely try flubenvet as she must be really thin for you to describe her as a "dainty light sussex".

My light sussex makes my hybrids look like supermodels she is so buxom, or maybe mine is just fat :oops: .

I hope bunny feels better soon once she is wormed and had her tuna. Keep us updated on her progress.

Ooohh what a little sweetie :oops::D .

Tiny little comb as well. My big girl is two years old and about 4 times the size of your dainty little lady. You can see the photos in my link in the signature at the bottom.

I am sure your girl will fatten up nicely once she settles down and starts laying :D .
