Patridge bantam chicken poorly foot?

had a look at the girls today to check the width of their pin bones..... Henrietta and hermionie distance apart are over 2 fingers now so it cant be long. combs and wattles quite large and bright red, they are eating for England...... New pictures on my collietalk space.

are they crouching? If so, a week or thereabouts to go- it's so exciting isn't it - you will jump up and down when you find your first one!

They certainly look like they are around the right age, although my Amber Star didn't crouch coming up to her first egg but I did notice the yellowy droppings that some other threads have mentioned coming up to their first egg.

 

Fingers crossed for you as its always exciting when they do for the first time.

We have yellowy/orangey frothy poo...... There were 2 dollops on the flags yesterday. Havent really noticed crouching but the chickens like to go under a fir tree where the earth is bare and dry. They have dustbaths there.....
