speckled hen
Hi Everyone My new walk in run arrives next week, oh and the It will be going on a block paved drive, the cube is going on the outside of the run. Can anyone suggest a covering for the floor? Also do I need to add a dust bath? The girls free range quite alot at the moment, the plan is to leave them in the run a bit more throughout the winter months (DH likes the grass green not muddy!) The girls arent laying yet so Im hoping they might start once they settle into the new palace! Thanks in advacne for your help
bluekarin
I am using Hemcore on the floor of our run, and inside the house and in the nesting boxes. They seem to like it, and I find it very easy to clean up the poo every day. My hubby and I were a bit unsure about getting it at first due to the price, but so far, and it's only been 1 week (feels like we've had them forever, in a good way). Our run is on grass, but we've put wire mesh on a removable frame on the bottom for easy cleaning. I have also used newspaper so all the Hemcore didn't disappear through the holes, but that's been so scratched up, I think when I do the big clean I won't put it in again. Hope that's of some help! Egluntyne
I use Aubiose, for the floor and a shallow tubtrug full of compost for the dustbath.
Ain't Nobody Here
I used Hemcore and loved it, but when the price shot up I started using Easibed. It's just as good.
