gemmcd
Hi - I love my chickens! Anyway yesterday there was a few very liquidy poos in the eglu when I went to empty poo tray - not many but a few. Also there was what I could only describe as clear runny stuff - like the white of an egg when you break it but no yellow - is that poo - or what - there was quite a lot - like the quantity of what would be in an egg. Very confused! They have bokashi and garlic powder and I think the 2 are doing the 'normal' firm poos. The more mature looking I have seen do yellow runny poos - but yesterday were light brown and liquid not just soft. Any ideas especially to the clear stuff? Thanks! MedusA
I wouldn't worry too much. Chicken poo seems to come in all colours and consistencies. If your hens seem fit and well, it's unlikely anything is wrong. I've always assumed (possibly wrongly) that the odd clear excretion is like chicken pee. My Suffolk Noir is moulting at the moment and her poos are a weird green, but she seems fine in herself. If you are still worried. try some Avipro if you have it, to boost their beneficial gut flora.
