mictogirl
We’re finally getting our chickens on Saturday! I think I’ve got everything ready – we’ve wood chipped an area of the garden for them and I’ve been and bought some layers pellets, corn and grit. Everything else is coming with them, ark, feeders, mite stuff etc. We’re actually rehoming them for someone who is moving house and I don’t know much apart from that they are 5 ex-batts (now restored to health) and an old bantam, but apparently they are very tame. Can’t wait to name them and enjoy the sight of them free ranging in the garden. I keep forgetting the added bonus of eggs, but have put an Egg Skelter on my xmas list Unfortunately it’s forecast to be rain / snow on Saturday so not really ideal for driving an hour there and bringing back 6 chickens, large house and all their gumpf, then setting them up in the garden and settling in! I’m SOOOOO excited! Will post piccies as soon as I have some, and would welcome any ideas for names, though I’m thinking maybe I should try and see what their personalities are like first. No doubt my son (3) will want to name one and we may end up with another one named ‘Doggy’ if we let my daughter (1) name another – this is what she calls all animals currently Laura x
