I think I need to get some of this for poor Indianas sore featherless head

 

So, online I have found Gentian Violet Spray, which is what I had assumed was the stuff I need.

However, the 2 local places I have tried say that this is no longer available, but they have an Aleo Vera & Violet/purple spray.

Does anyone know if its the same sort of thing?

It is for minor wounds,& is also antiseptic........but as both places are equestrian shops they don't know if its beneficial for hens.

The one we use is in an orange tin with a horse on the front.

Its called Septicleanse I think.

 

I did hear a rumour Purple spray was being discontinued so we bought loads of tins last year, so it might be right Sarah that some places dont stock it.

I bought mine from flytesofancy online and it arrived the next day - I used it where my moulting girl got a bit bloody.

I got mine from Flytesofancy too.. for poor Speckles little bare pecked botom!!

 

I saw this morning that it had mostly come off from previous sprayings so undertook to do it myself without OH -

 

All was going well - speckle was on the kitchen table happily eating some worms, I had the sprays at the ready, I put a calming hand on her wings- then sprayed -

 

30 seconds later Speckle was perched on my hat, purple spray all over me, all over floor, all over table, and speckle had a purple foot!!

 

 

I dunno what work will think tommorow when I come in covered in little purple specks!
