Most of the toymaking has been outsourced to the Far Eastern elves these days. We just polish the candy canes and psych up the reindeer. You know how it is. They need their e-numbers to get round the world in one night. They need the stimulation! Everyone leaves them milk instead of caffeinated beverages. They don't half go on about it, but what can you do? I've told them it's tradition, and if they don't like it, they can take a running jump, but they said if they take a running jump, the usual outcome is they end up taking off, and it's bad form for them to be seen flying on any day other than the 24th December. I can see what they mean. As for Rudolph, he's had a tough old year. What with everyone going on about carbon footprints, some of the elves have been experimenting with energy saving nose components. They said to him: 'Rudolph, the people say if they ever saw your nose, they would even say it glows, and if it glows, it must do so energy efficiently, or else there'll be an outcry from the hippies.' So he's a bit cross about that. But that's progress for you. As for reindeer gossip, there's a wee bit of pre-flight japery going on as usual. That pop band The Killers have released a song with the line 'Are we human? Or are we Dancer?' So they all sing that to one individual (guess who) a lot. And Donner gets called a kebab all the time, but he just goes, 'Sheesh, pur-lease guys!' which they find really amusing.
