Sarah M
Just popped home for lunch and there was a red kite flying above my garden Does anyone know if these are a threat to my two girls I let them free range all day, they were hiding in the flower beds when I opened the back door - bless 'em
The Dogmother
You'll be fine Sarah, Red Kites only go for carrion. My outlaws have a farm in Radnage and there are loads of red kites there, but they don't go for live prey - they are sort of UK vultures You might find that your chooks run for cover though when they see something overhead. Mrs Frugal
We get them flying over regularly too Sarah and although the girls get spooked, they are in absolutely no danger at all.

Cinnamon
The Kites nest in some tall trees at the back of my house,& they are never a threat to the hens. They are wonderful - enjoy them!!!
