joe14
Few inch of snow has fallen in East Lancashire overnight. Went out as usual to de-frost water and s were peering out of eglu as if to say "What the hell is this then?" It took grapes and rice to get them out!! callyfc
For the first time ever, my girls didnt want to come out of the run!!! They stood at the door shouting at me " what have you done with the grass mum!!! : " Eventually they reluctantly came out, scratched and pooed a bit , and quickly have retreated back into the run! Ive given them a bowl of greens to compensate for the lack of grass, and they will get warm porridge before bed! C x
dancing cloud
We were due for snow a couple of weekends ago, but only got a little flurry and lots of sleety rain I can't wait for my little ex-batt monsters to see snow for the first time. I've no idea what they will do - but it'll be well worth watching to see (with camera of course)

cordelia
we have about 5 inches of snow today.....I've brushed it off the girls eglu and run twice....and put an extra large taup. over the top.....they wont come out of their bed....never mind go in the run...(I can only see one clean patch under it with no snow....) I've defrosted their water...put some corn in to tempt them out...but nope...they wont come out of their eglu..they wont set foot in the run....maybe later.. piptiddlepip
Hilarious! No snow down here as we live in Brighton, but yesterday it was tipping it down with rain and the chooks initially refused to come out of the run for their mash in the morning. I went in and told OH that the chickens were "refusing to soldier". It was funny as they've never refused to go out in the rain before - usually we call then daft b*ggers and tell them to get in thier warm, dry run - but they march about in the rain looking like drowned rats.
