Orange poo

Recommended Posts

Hi

We have had our chickens since Thursday and one or both of them (not seen the actual chicken in the act!) has very runny orange poo.

Has anyone else had this issue?

There are 3 likely candidates for the problem.

We gave them carrots. Would this be a problem do they disagree with chickens?

One of them ate a really big worm yesterday. I doubt this would be a issue as I assume they always eat worms.

I have been giving them about a handful of corn each day to make friends! Is that too much!

I assume the best thing to do is just not give them anything but pellets and water and see what happens?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Mine had the squits for a few weeks when they first arrived then it settled down. So could just be stress of arriving etc. Keep an eye on it just in case though.

Mine love cooked carrots but turn their beaks up at raw carrot peelings, but it has no effect on their poop. But beetroot and the tops of beetroot plants, well that's another story entirely....... just you wait......
