My head chook hasn't (i don't think, but not sure) hasn't laid in about 3 weeks unless jers are the occasional softees. She seems to be the only one not showing obvious signs of moult. has she finished or do thewy stop for few weeks or winter & sytart again, She is also the one who would be best suited to laying, the others ought to rest or "lay off " for a bit

You don't say how old she is Sandy.

 

Most hybrids will slow down slightly on the laying front in the winter, but rarely stop laying, whereas my pure breeds generally have a rest from November through to January.

 

If she is older, then she may have stopped laying, although this usually isn't sudden and they will gradually tail off. If she's otherwise well and not ailing, I'd make sure that they are all warm and well fed and let them get on with it. She may come back into lay when the daylight hours lengthen in the new year.

She was released in May same as the other 2. She is very big, seems healthy, being head girl gets to eat what she wants 1st. I have been giving them all more corn in the afternoons to help them keep warm, and she sleeps in an Eglu with her friend(so only 2 in there. Eggs are not important, as like most that isn't why I had ex bats. only interested.
