I haven't had much chance to get on here this weekend so am having to read threads in their entirities, but this one made me laugh by the end- I think that sums up all the horrors that Christmas entails really- we must laugh otherwise we will collapse in a heap of tears. Families eh? arrghh. This may make you chuckle- I actually thought there were 2 and a half weeks left til Christmas. I was on the phone to my brother and he told me NO- 1 and a half weeks I think my family is a bit concerned as I am supposed to be "doing" Christmas this year. HELP!!! I think I have been so busy and have been trying to do things earlier than usual that I thought I was more organised and therefore had more time...hence not doing things when they should be done. Does that make much sense? Probably not which is why I have to write Christmas cards tonight as many have to be posted ASAP and yes the foreign ones too will have to have Happy New Year written on them. You know what gets me is that I do all the shopping, choosing, wrapping, sending cards etc. He cooks Christmas dinner and expects praise for it all year Sounds like my OH, he cooks Christmas Dinner and gets all the praise! I do EVERYTHING else without anyone else noticing. I've decided this year a few more jobs will be delegated to him, especially as I'm now working and have less time. This week I will be asking him to wrap half the pressies, write/deliver cards to the neighbours and to buy some stocking fillers. I logged out and in again but they're still not moving - and it can't be the time lag - Dorset is only just through Hampshire... or is it Wiltshire... or both? The trouble with living in Berks. is that we're surrounded by other counties and I'm very easily confused Just realised that we've taken over this thread hugs to all suffering xmas blues... My " I'm really loosing it, and going out of control" rant must have gone quite well as today OH has gone out with me and bought all the remaining pressies, written all the uk cards, is going to wrap all the pressies tomorrow night, has cooked tea, is cleaning the kitchen and is just putting some washing in . I think he could tell how close to the edge I was. I've missed the date for abroad cards too but I've sent them from that website Moonpig as they even post them directly to the person for you, as I could not face going to the busy post office and queing. My mum has also given us nothing but grief about over spending at christmas for years, this year we are only buying children presents and she is sulking . If that woman ever says what she truly means i will drop dead of shock. Anyway she has chosen to boycott our house on christmas day (since there are no presents or grandchildren ) and she will be going to worship at the feet of No. 1 son, my darling brother AKA the golden child. OH and I are now looking forward to a lovely peaceful day, just the 2 of us, heaven. By the way, Mel and Crazygal, I love it when threads go wild, you two have really made me laugh and cheered me up, so thank you very much Hope you get a realxing day too ANH.
