I've got a lovely long red linen shirt (my favorite for wearing when I'm out) and my dear husband knocked into me and red wine spilt down it. Unfortunately both the reds don't match Do I soak it in cold water or hot water? I know that one sets the stain but I don't know which. I'll be so upset if I can't get the stain out. Anybody have any ideas

ooops!!! I've just googled it and came up with a very scientific looking site that said if you can bear it, soak the whole area with white wine! (Ive heard this before).

If you have no white wine available cover the whole area in salt.

 

Good luck. (Is hubby in trouble?)

ho water sets stains. Try cold salt water.

White wine does work. Well it does on carpets as I found out on my 18th. As does salt but I think the stain needs to be damp still

Such a waste of wine...... Hubby will be in big trouble if I can't get it out!

Try soaking it in soda water, I don't know why it works....but it does
