I thought you might like to see this photograph of my ladies enjoying themselves. We chopped a tree down in the garden today and dug up quite a bit of the roots, and just left it all out for them....their faces when they came out were a picture! They were climbing all over it, digging up the soil to find goodies etc....hubby kept going out and turning over the logs to reveal new creepy crawlies for them. They were very happy chickens!

You realise you won't be allowed to clear that lot up? Where would the girlies play if you did .

Mine are enjoying me digging over the lawn to generate a veggie patch. I keep unearthing ants nests with very sleepy ants in - a gourmet hors d'oeuvre.

 

Have been getting rather cross with them scratching around the broad bean plants though - they keep knocking them over.
