BarbaraJ
i know a strange request as its usually vinegar to clean lol i asked hubby to open a very large jar of pickled onions for me. He did then with the lid partly opened passed the jar to me whilst holding it by the lid he then drops the jar all over my living room, half the onions and over half the vinegar It doesn't seem to be too smelly but its maybe because i have been in here all day. Its been dabbed then washed with water and then vanish but i think i will notice the smell in the morning. Anything i can clean it that will get rid of smell? of course hubby stood there when it happened like but i was then 'go and get something to mop it up'
gracefruit
Sodium bicarb should do it. It's alkaline and will neutralise the acid in the vinegar which should get rid of the smell. Just sprinkle a bit over where the spill was, or make a strong solution/paste and scrub the affected area. Sodium bicarb can scratch, so be careful if the spill was on a delicate surface. Chook n Boo Mum
Bicarb is my thought too. I used vinegar to clean the bathrooms etc upstairs, the children always ask why they smell of fish & chips... ! Sha x
