4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

We've had our 2 since October and now the grass has totally dissapeared we've decided to get a walk-in run.

 

Our garden is not very big. I've done a measure-up and we can fit in a 2.5 x 1.5 x 2m high run. The Eglu would be inside on a table to give the extra floor space.

 

The chickens would then only free-range for an hour a day. I would like to get another 2 chickens in the spring and I'm worried that the run might not be big enough.

 

What do you think?

Sounds really good. The size sounds comparable to what lots on here have with four chickens. You're going to be busy.

Thanks Plum and Egluntine. Just needed reasurance. Feel guilty not letting them do much freeranging but the kids need somewhere to play.

 

I was going to have 1" x 1" 19 guage welded mesh then realised the clips on the grub and glug are 2 inches wide. Now thinking 2" x 1" mesh.

 

What do others use?

You might want to have the grub and glug fixed to something entirely within the run - look at the run inspiration topics - I fixed the grub on the weldmesh, and a rat ate both clips in an attempt to create a "back door" to the pellets. Very irritating, as the grub cannot now be clipped onto anything. (I have other grubs but it is still annoying.)
