My new Maslin pan arrived today, all ingredients for Nigellas Chilli Jelly/jam ordered and we are ready to go I will let you know how it works out. I hope to be able to give a couple of jars of it to our Chuch Stall which runs every Saturday. All depends on the success of the jam though so fingers crossed for me please

I've posted on the original Chilli Jam thread but, I've made it today and it's delicious. I went for the 20 minute boil but it almost set in the pan! I will try 15 minutes next time.

 

*Update*

 

Um, the 20 minute boil has made sweet chilli concrete I've had to zap my jar in the microwave to warm it up to be able to get any out onto my Ham

 

Anyone got a rescue tip for the other 6 jars?

gosh, mine was quite runny you could try adding a little bit of boiled water to the jar and stir it in to dilute it a bit.

I wondered about getting it back into a pan, and adding more vinegar and red peppers and standard sugar

 

What do you think? It tastes lovely but, just can't get it out

it's up to you, I'd just try the water personally. Anything for an easy life

I did this with strawberry jam. It was more like strawberry toffee I still have a jar, but it is impossible to get it out of the jar

Thank goodness its not just me then I have since made another batch and that one was much better. I am going to try and get the first lot out of the jars by warming them.

 

Its gonna get very sticky and messy. I must make sure I try and do it when the children are not here
