Phoebe
Does anyone know whether chickens can eat this, uncooked ? For reasons that I won't go into, I have a large bag of it, and nothing else to do with it.
Egluntyne
For reasons that I won't go into, I have a large bag of it, Sounds intriguing! I don't see why not. Try them with a tiny bit and see what happens. or mix it with hot water to make a porridgey mush. They will enjoy that. Even better....make yourself some Parkin! C&T
Mix it with natural yoghurt - and mine go mad for it! Easiest way to worm them - mix the flubywhatsit up in it, and they attack it with relish, and don't stop till it's gone. They leave nothing behind. I would swear they lick the bowl clean.... Phoebe
Sounds intriguing not really - I wanted to make Aga porridge, ordered bag from Goodness Direct, without checking size and ended up with tons and tons, and then did n't like the porridge I have gone back to using rolled oats myself. I will look into Parkin though.
Willow
I would definitely make it up as porridge for your chickens in preference to throwing them the oats. When my youngest wanted to try chocolate readybrek and decided he didn't like it the chickens got a bowl a day until it was gone and loved it ! I guess only drawback is the pinhead oatmeal does take some cooking though. I like it but it's a w/e breakfast - If I've forgotten to buy chocolate croissants
