4m x 3m Omlet pen, cube, new auto door still boxed and coop light

Took the hens some grapes at 4 and then shut the cube door while I cleaned out the nestbox - otherwise they follow me in there looking for more grapes.

 

You can guess the next bit. My hens are in a run so I went out just now to shut them up for the night and found four wet and miserable hens queuing up on the ladder as the cube door was still shut

A couple of weekends ago I was late cleaning my cube out and had shut the door to stop them from getting in the way. It was starting to get a bit dark and I had almost finished when I heard them knocking on the door! They were literally pecking at it to tell me to get a move on!

 

Needless to say I felt duly told off and let them in whereupon they moaned and groaned like a lot of old biddies!

When we first got the chooks, DD used to shut the door before opening the egg hatch, one day she forgot to open it again & I went out after dark to find a heap of sleepy chooks snuggled up in the corner there the door rests when fully opened . It wasn't easy to encourage them up & out of the way so they could go indoors !
