Phoebe
Took the hens some grapes at 4 and then shut the cube door while I cleaned out the nestbox - otherwise they follow me in there looking for more grapes. You can guess the next bit. My hens are in a run so I went out just now to shut them up for the night and found four wet and miserable hens queuing up on the ladder as the cube door was still shut
thewhitehouse
lol A couple of weekends ago I was late cleaning my cube out and had shut the door to stop them from getting in the way. It was starting to get a bit dark and I had almost finished when I heard them knocking on the door! They were literally pecking at it to tell me to get a move on! Needless to say I felt duly told off and let them in whereupon they moaned and groaned like a lot of old biddies!
jill the potter
Just smiling at the thought of them all queueing up on the ladder

Chook n Boo Mum
When we first got the chooks, DD used to shut the door before opening the egg hatch, one day she forgot to open it again & I went out after dark to find a heap of sleepy chooks snuggled up in the corner there the door rests when fully opened . It wasn't easy to encourage them up & out of the way so they could go indoors ! Sha x
Phoebe
Glad I am not the only one. I shall dose them all up with citricidal tomorrow to guard against colds.
