Tombull10
Hi, I just wondered if anybody knows a good chicken feed supplier in the south Manchester area. I'm looking at getting ex batts so believe it's the layers mash i need. Also, is dust extracted sawdust ok for the mesting box inside the eglu?? What other supplies do i need to make sure my girls will be happy and healthy. I'm sure i'll get lots more for them as time goes on but just want to know what the essentials are to get me started. Thanks
alih
depends where you are in south Manchester but there is a great farm shop called estate supplies country store - it's on the Ashley road going towards Mobberley and does all sorts of horsey stuff but stocks chicken food and bits and bobs too. I get my Layers pellets from there but am pretty sure they do chick crumb and mash too. they have a website! Happy shopping!
Tweety
I go to Estate Supplies too, and they have most of the things you will need to get started ie layers mash, Hemcore/Aubiose/Easibed or something similar for the poo trays and nesting box, grit, mixed corn etc.

hennymom
if you are anywhere near chelford, chelford farm supplies are very good... we live in Macclesfield and we have an excellent store at the end of our road..lol also if you are near wilmslow peacocks farm in Handforth can get pretty much anything you require... like the others said depends where you are located...
