How Quickly Does Albendazole Work?

Hello

 

Audrey (Pepperpot, arrived September) had a watery eye the day before yesterday, still watery yesterday, and today it is closed and the eyelids are slightly swollen. The other eye is perfectly bright and perky. She is still laying.

 

Should I leave her in with the others or separate them - worried that being by herself might stress her, but I could rig something up so that she can see the others?

 

Should I take her to the vet, or is there something I can do myself?

Just rinse it with cooled black tea and see how it goes. Do that a couple of times a day and it should sort it out. If it has an infection, then you'll need to go to the vet for some ointment.

we've had a couple of eye problems here with 2 different chooks. The cold tea does help, or diluted salted water.

 

Keep an eye on it, and as Claret said if symptoms persist you will need to go to the vet - eventually we had to go to the vet with both our chooks one was given a gel to put in the eye and the other had Baytril (given by injection) and both cleared up fine.
