Pollo
Just out of interest, how long roughly do eggs last? This question has only arisen because normally the eggs don't hang around more than a couple of days before they get used but for the first time since I got my two in October we went away for two weeks and my daughter looked after them but didn't eat any eggs. I normally write a date on them and I know the way of testing them is putting them in water to see if they sink or float. I don't keep them in the fridge. Ain't Nobody Here
I think they last up to 3 or 4 weeks. Not a chance they would be around that long though!
MadMitch
Yes, I think its roughly 3 weeks without a fridge and 4 with.
Bantambabe
Shop bought eggs have to, by law, have a sell by (or display until) date 3 weeks from laying; and a use by date which is 4 weeks from laying. Useful info if you ever have to buy eggs. Ours never last that long, but I can see the possibility when we get into the lighter, warmer months and all the girls are laying. I bought a date stamp from staples and some food grade ink. The kids love stamping the eggs with a date 28 days hence (it's good for their maths to have to work it out too! - poor things, who'd have a teacher for a mother eh ) debs

Pollo
Thanks very much. As you say, can't see any of mine ever lasting 3 days let alone 3 weeks!
