and their Dad who is 3/4 White Sussex and 1/4 Minorca

 

 

Their mother is either a brown Araucuna mix bantam that lays greeny blue eggs or a standard commerical brown chicken - the bantam had a selection of eggs put under her.

 

They were born on Tuesday and so won't be home to me until the second week of May! The cutest one - a sort of splotchy brown colour unforunately also has a mark on its head so is quite likely a male.

 

But I'm very pleased to report that their run will measure approx 20' X 5'.

I'm getting impatient now. Mainly because I've seen these pics of my Hens to Be.

and it'll be late May before I can get them. Need to light a fire under OH and get the run built!

Thanks everyone. It really is difficult waiting for them to grow up and my OH to build the run. I sit staring at the space in the garden it will be in. & I might just have ordered nearly everything I need, just 2 months early...

I am in same boat..my cube is coming 14th April I have just persuaded my 13 year old to come to help me in the garden to start banging some posts in!

At least I will feel something is going on...i have 2 on order but if i get my run built may go and find myself a couple more something hens.

Yours look absolutely lovely..au naturelle! My ducks were hatched under a broody hen and she looked after them beautifully (probably not au naturelle)!
